Tenor John M. Punt received his Bachelor of Music in classical voice at Idaho State University and his Master of Music degree at the Jacobs School of Music. His choral work and solo studies have given him a repertoire of several hundred works in 38 languages, with performances as a featured soloist in Italy, Austria, Spain, Portugal, and the Vatican. His compositional works include dozens of art songs, vocal chamber music, and a commissioned opera based on the life of Lady Jane Grey. John lives in Bloomington, Indiana with his wife and two daughters, where he is in his fourth year of teaching at Seven Oaks Classical School.

What is the most inspiring part of your job?
"I love seeing students 'educated' – lead from darkness to light. It is a beautiful moment to see a face lit up in wonder and understanding, especially when they join in celebrating humanity with all of the generations before them, through music.​"
