Katherine joins the Hillsdale K-12 Leader Fellow Program bringing with her a long history of involvement in classical education, from her own formation in that method as a child to her collegiate studies, teaching, and leadership experience in its philosophy. She has taught elementary, middle, and high school students in independent Christian and parochial school settings, mainly in the areas of grammar and literature. In addition, Katherine [Miss Sinkovitz] served as a Curriculum Specialist for an established school transitioning to classical methods, consulting on curriculum and pedagogy in that process. Most recently she has served as the Dean of Academics at a Hillsdale Curriculum school in southeast Michigan, leading faculty in growth of classical pedagogy and deeper understanding of the liberal arts tradition and aligning curriculum from Kindergarten to 12th grade with the goodness, truth, and beauty so essential to classical education.
Vision
My goal is to serve classical educators, students, and communities with steadfast leadership, bringing to bear the wisdom of the liberal arts tradition in respect to virtue and human nature in all areas of school leadership. Working always toward human flourishing for all within the community—staff, students, and parents alike—I endeavor to lead schools in order and beauty, wherein all are challenged to work toward the good life.
