BS from Hillsdale College in Biology and Philosophy (2019)
Master of Humanities with a Classical Education Concentration from the University of Dallas (2024)
Master Teacher from 2023-2025.
I grew up in Hillsdale, Michigan and attended public schools. After high school, I attended Hillsdale College, where I got to experience the rigor and beauty of classical education and be transformed by it. At the time, I could not have articulated what it was about my college education that had such a profound effect on me, but I knew that I wanted the opportunity to serve others in the way that I felt served by my education. That desire led me to accept a teaching position at Founders Classical Academy in Leander, TX, where I taught sixth grade for 3 years. Immediately, I fell in love with classical teaching, which led me to enroll in a graduate program with the University of Dallas, so I could provide myself the opportunity for a more formal classical education and gain the ability to articulate the purpose, history, and philosophy of classical education.
At the end of my third year in Leander, I was given the opportunity to move back home to Hillsdale and teach sixth grade at Hillsdale Academy, which I have done for the past three years. During that time I bought a house, met my wife, got married, finished my master's degree, and am expecting the birth of my son at the end of March. Now, after six years of teaching, I have the chance to participate in the School Leader Fellowship through the Hillsdale College K12 Education Office. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn how to serve the needs of a faculty and school community on a larger scale, and I look forward to the joys and challenges of that work.
Vision
My hope is to faithfully serve the Hillsdale Academy faculty, staff, mission, and community through my work as an administrator.
