Developing School Leaders

Hillsdale College helps to develop strong school leaders to help expand classical education across the country. We have multiple initiatives and resources for those interested in school leadership, whether you are ready to lead a school now or are wondering how to become one in the future. Experience teaching in or leading a classical school is ideal but not required. Hillsdale College offers two programs that are designed to prepare individuals for school leadership roles:

School Leadership Fellowship: Now Accepting Applications for Positions Beginning Summer 2025

  • Hillsdale School Leadership Fellows work at a Hillsdale-affiliated school for one academic year. School Leadership Fellows meet regularly with the headmaster and administrative team, observe classrooms, and also teach a course during the school year. By gaining both teaching and administrative experience, Fellows become familiar with all aspects of the school to prepare for successful placement in a permanent role in a Hillsdale school following the fellowship.
